no they are nothing alike, it is the 9.9 that is suppose to be, but i still have not seen proof it works.

Short answer is no. There have been attempts to convert a 9.9 to a 15 but I don't know if they were ever successful or accomplished that much if they were. The 9.5 is unlike any other.




I think we need a sticky thats says if you want a 15hp then buy one.

I once read the OB first came out as a 15 hp then was downgraded to a 9.9 (but I dought it).

There is far more than a carb change required for the upgrade. From what I read it would be = Carb + exhaust ports + a few other minor parts that would end up costing way over the price of buying a good shape real 15 hp.

Then you could have 2 OB's a 15 for the ride and a 9.9 for restricted lakes ... sounds like a better deal does'nt it. LOL

thanks i was just kicking the idea around,might just buy a 15hp.
