Can't get engine to wind up, is it prop or mechanical, I'm at a loss. Motor has been under water, briefly according to previous, runs nicely. It is a 1965 18HP fast twin, it ran good for about 3 minutes the first time out, 2nd time out lost prop and changed for a used one, some vibration but I need to have the prop fixed, but the motor just doesn't seem to be building the rpms as before. Owner said it wasn't underwater for more than 2 minutes and wasn't running when it went under. I changed one condenser and it fired fine. The prop is same pitch as orginal so it shouldn't have cut my rpms, hope this helps

Lunker.... You'll need to elaborate more about that engine to obtain a credible answer. What is the compression on each cylinder, with the s/plugs out does the spark jump a certain gap on each cyl 1/4" or 7/16" depending on the year and horsepower.

The number stated of 65 doesn't relate to us exactly what the engine is... the year 65, 65hp? State exactly what year, make and horsepower you have.

Has the engine ever run properly for you? If so, what has happened since then? When was the engine underwater.... and when it was brought out of the water, was it worked on immediately and restored to running condition?

Whatever you can think of, jot it down here so that we can answer properly.

When anyone in effect fires off a short note which in effect states something like "My engine doesn't run. What's wrong with it"? It's very tempting to simply fire off a short note back which says something like "Sounds like it's broke!"
