Hello,
I have purchased a boat that I am going to rebuild. Before I dump a lot of money into rebuilding the hull I want to make sure the motor is going to run good for at least for a couple of years

It is a 66-67 95HP Mecury. The motor was sitting in a field for 3 years. When I got it home (and got the key) it started with little effort and idled with no problems. My question is what should I have replaced/serviced other then the common water pump etc. All the rubber lines look good none are dry-rotted. Any worries being that it sat in a field for 3 years without being preped for storage?

Thanks in advance!
Scott

Everything Rick said but the fuel lines, unless you see a problem with them.

I would de-carb it soon after it runs a little bit. Those are a tough old bird. :D

-W
