So I have a new (to me anyway!) boat and motor. I just picked up a second SportFour that I can rebuild.

I am wondering what sort of tach to get for it? I looked at tinytach, but not too fond of the digital tach on my old boat ('68 Silverline). There is a spot on the dash for what looks to be a 3" guage. I read in the owners manual that there is a tach wire available and I have located it under the dash. 40 years later and it still has the "TACHOMETER LEAD" label on it!!! The owners manual has this to say:

"A lead (marked TACHOMETER LEAD) is provided at the switch for operating a tachometer. The tachometer must be of the battery ignition type."

Where do I find such an animal?

Also where is the cheapest place to find an impeller? I have seen posts on $10 impellers but every place I look they are $20...
Same thing with carb kit... they are more like $30 than the $15 I keep seeing in posts...

Thanks in advance!

I don't know of any tachs still being made for that motor. However, an automotive tach for the old style conventional ignition (V-8) MIGHT work. A two-stroke V-4 fires the same number of times per revolution as a four-stroke V-8.
