67 evinrude impellar?

I have just bought a 1967 40 hp selectric evinrude. So I know on my 1970 40hp motor the water comes out of the hole on the top of the motor below the powerhead. Should the same thing be happening with my 67 selectric? This thing was sitting awhile i was told so I need some help.
