Hi,
I'm having a little trouble with my lower unit on my outboard. It's a hardly used '67 9.5 evinrude.
I recently changed the seals in the lower unit because the oil was getting milky, and I don't think it'd been done in a while (if ever).

I took it all apart just fine, cleaned out all the old junk, bought new seals, and put it back together.

I noticed now that a little oil leaks out the seam on the lower unit now. I was very careful not to force anything.

Before I take it apart again to make sure I didn't pinch my spaghetti seal in there weird, I want to know if there's a "seal helper" out there that I can smear along the seals to help them do their job.

It's a sweet motor, and this is the only thing wrong with it.

thanks.
