Hi, Lorax.

After a few minutes, huh?

Could be a fuel supply problem, like a restricted fuel tank vent or line. Try squirting some premix directly into the carb when this happens. If she starts then quits again, she is not getting fuel enough.

If that doesn't do it, go to the FAQ section and troubleshoot for "Outboard Wont Start".

Good luck.
Thanks for the comments.
Xcusme - I've got water coming out the discharge area and it seems pretty cool.

JB - I'll try that. I'm testing it on a saw horse. The fuel tank is on the ground. Could the height difference be a problem?

Thanks again.
Hello jon here Montreal.. sounds like your coils are getting hot and shorting out .. see if u have spark after the motor has cut out .. if not 2 coils and condencers are in order.. well worth it , keep me posted
Sounds like a choke problem. If your choke isn't working correctly, engine will run till it warms up and then ... nada. With the cowl off, make sure the choke plate opens when the choke lever is pushed in.
