Just bought 40 hp selectric shift motor, changed lower gear oil with 80/90 lower unit gear oil took out in the bay when running WOT it will kick out of gear and over rev the engine. Is this the correct oil for this motor? And should I flush out the lower unit first before changing again? Thanks in advance for any help its much appreciated!!!!

Thats the wrong oil, its too thick. You should be using premium or commonly refered to as type "C" oil made for electric shift LUs.

Change the oil, but DO NOT run it any more until you check out the electrical circuits. Weak voltage to the shift coils can make the clutches slip, and if you keep it up can damage them. If that all checks out, also check the prop hub for slipping. If none of the above, you got trouble.
