Well we finished rewiring under the dash and got all that cleaned up then cleaned up a bit of the wiring in the engine itself, hooked it up to the battery and bumped the key, nothing. We got out the multimeter and started testing. We got back to the starter solenoid and found that the two big posts on either end that the battery cable hooked up to had 12v each and the two smaller posts had 6v. This does not seem correct
. So we are figuring that either the starter solenoid is bad or we have a short somewhere. I figured start with the solenoid, so I pulled it out. In this process and looking over a couple other things I noticed a couple items that may be "missing" Here are two links to pictures of what I'm talking about. The first is the "missing" piece. It's just a blade that seems like it should have something plugged into it. You can see a wire coming off the other side which feeds into a loom and separates several places but also leads to my two 6v posts on the starter solenoid. Another thing not pictured is on the bottom of the distributor it seems like there is a cap or something missing. Would anyone know what I'm talking about there? And then the second picture is the solenoid itself, just to show which posts I was talking about.
