68 6hp Evinrude Fisherman ok for salt?

It's in mint condition and I want to use it as a kicker motor for trolling in saltwater. I have never used this old of a motor in salt. Should it be ok? Or should I sell it and get something newer?

It would be hard to beat the motor you have, although, remember to flush her out when you can.

Add and maintain zinc anodes and it will last longer. You can screw them to the top of the A/V plate.

T-9 will help protect the motor. Use Triple Guard grease.
