Hey all, bought this project boat a couple months back needing attention and repair of course, newbie to boats but I'm perfectly capable of following repair information. I have been slowly tinkering with it/collecting parts as time allows. Have the old 120 Mercruiser running seemingly well now and trailer roadworthy... Anyways I have a couple of questions at the moment:

Does anyone know where the fuel tank was originally located in this boat? Under the floor and original metal tank would be my guess? The plastic gas tank is currently ratchet strapped loosely to the top of the closed bow by the previous owner. Pretty sure it doesn't belong there, or maybe it does? The filler hole is on top of the bow, looks original. I guess if it is acceptable I will keep the tank where it is for now, just secure it better? Floor has been replaced previously and is solid.

Also I'm missing the transom cap on the Starboard side of the boat, looks pretty "model/time period specific". Any tips on finding one or is there any online boat junkyards available for stuff like this? Classified Forum for boat parts? I have a feeling this will be something I will have to fabricate...

Any input or personal experience with old aluminum Crestliners appreciated. :)

Welcome to Iboats Xjfish. I'm working on a crestliner, but a lot newer than yours. Good luck with project. Pics are always helpful.
