68 Evinrude 4hp running hot

I jsut aquired a 4 hp Lightwin and it runs OK but over heats. I checked the water pump of course and it seems OK. I flushed water thru it, the inlet and thru the engine. Can the impeller be on backwards? Or what else can it be?

I would replace the Water Pump for good measure. Then you know it's right!
