I have a 68' Glassmaster 14' runabout with mostly original equipment including the cable steering system. The steering wheel has a wobble to. I was told it was a "bearing" that needed to be replaced.

Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Also any idea where I can get a new steering wheel?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome aboard.

When you say wobble - Does the wheel move up/down and side to side when you shake it?

And by cable steering system - Is this cable/pulley steering?

Thanks
Yes it has room to move 360 degrees. its like it had spacers and they are now gone. I have not taken it apart yet to see inside.

The cable system is a rubber coated cable / pulley system that steers the boat.

:welcome: aboard Duffey. Always nice to have a new boater join us...

Sounds like you may want to upgrade to a totally new steering system at this point. That is unless you really want to keep your older system for any reason. By the time you replace the steering wheel and assembly and even the cables and pulleys, you could purchase a new system that works perfectly without and issues. JMHO Post a few pictures of your present system and we can offer ideas and suggestions.
