69' 25 Hp Evinrude?

I just rebuilt the carb and adjusted per Joe Reeves. She runs great at
idle and low speed. The trouble starts when I twist the throttle. She
takes off fine then loses power and barely stays on plane. She revs up and down without any movement of the throttle. If I prime the bulb it makes no difference. Any suggestions fellas?

How did it run before you redid the carb? What was the reason for re doing the carb? Could be a coil/ignition issue. Do you have magnetos under the flywheel on that model?

It was spitting,coughing and skipping when I purchased it last fall. I was leary
because the motor was so old and I didn't know it's history. I figured
it was preventitive medicine. 2 green coils under the flywheel. They have no
visible cracks. I do have a manual for this but I'm no mechanic. Not
afraid to tinker with a little help from my friends.
