Have tried several different routes for ignition wires on '69 4 hp Johnson 4W69B, under fuel pump, around outside fuel pump, between fuel pump hoses.
None seems to give complete freedom of movement, especially on the low speed/ stop end. Perhaps the wires are cut too short?

Re: '69 4 hp Johnson ignition wires

Seems crazy but I bought 5 feet of wire for a 73, 4HP Johnson and didn't have enough wire for the second plug. I would suggest 6 feet of new wire and work your way back from the coils. That should work for you and also make sure your throttle bushing is nice and snug to hold it at WOT. Best of luck. Rick.
