Okay so thank you for Helping me understand the cavataion Plate Issue i was having. Has anyone ever removed the extension Plate. Do i need a shorter Shaft? I did not see Different shaft sizes on the evinrude website so it made me think i dont have to.

There's going to quite a bit to shorten that motor. You never gave a model number in your other thread, but typically you need a 20" midsection and a 20" driveshaft. Also the water pump tubes need to be shortened. In your case, I don't know if you can let the shift wires be 5" slack in the lower unit. Maybe someone else could answer that part. Long shaft motors have different model numbers from short shafts, making parts lookup a little tough.

If you look at a parts diagram for the 40hp Electric shift such as 40ES69R or 40ESL69R, in the parts list, it will actually tell you it's for "5 INCH LONGER PARTS" in the description. You can see which parts are for standard (15") and for LONG (20") this way. You will need to replace or modify the water tubes ( "IN/OUT") and DriveShaft as far as I remember.
As for the Shift wire, there is a side plate in the exhaust housing that the wire comes out of about 6 inches up on the starboard side. Since it's between the housing and cover the extra wire length won't matter.

40973R is my model number. I can always cut and splice if needed on wires.

40973R Model still holds true what I posted earlier. You will need to replace the Drive shaft with this Drive Shaft and the Water tubes with this water tube set. You will also need the shorter bolt for anchoring gear case to the lower unit (Exhaust housing to most people.) And the Reverse lock Spring. That should be all you need. I wouldn't toss any of those parts you replaced away. The Extension kit is unavailable now and you might be able to sell them someday.
