69 Eska 3.6 Lower unit

I need to replace the impeller and can't get the lower unit to drop. I have removed the 2 lower nut/screw but the thing still won't drop. Any Idea's ?

Not a Eska expert but most likely the drve shaft is stuck in the crank You could try cranking it with the bolts loose
to see if it will work loose.On rare occasions excessive grease on the spline at the crank will lock it together because air can't get in to release the driveshaft.
But probably it is just corrosion that some how needs to be broken loose.

I have a intertec sevice manual and it is for models prior to 1969 but im pretty sure your your motor should be the same. In this manual it says 3,4,6,7hp motors it will first be necessary to remove the powerhead from the lower motor leg. And remove the flare from the upper end of the water tube
