My motor has a 60 horse 71 model lower end on it and I went to get parts to reseal the lower end cause it's getting water in the oil ... went to get parts for a 69 55 horse and the seals was too small so I had to take the lower end loose and take it with me to make sure I got the right parts. Didn't know to take the wires loose at the power head so I just took the electric shift guts out and took it that way ... well I've got an extra part now that I don't know where it's supposed to go ... it's a spring washer and I think it goes in the shifter but can't figure out where it went and it won't shift into reverse now ... the part photos are at http://www.catfishin.net/washers1.jpg <br /> http://www.catfishin.net/washers2.jpg <br />I'll try to embed the html code here and hope it'll show up on the post ... any help would be greatly appreciated<br /><img src="http://www.catfishin.net/washers1.jpg"><br /><img src="http://www.catfishin.net/washers2.jpg">

Re: 69 model 55 hp evenrude electric shift problem

the wave washer goes on top of the solenoids and holds them down so they do not move upwards when energized. It also provides a ground between the solenoid and the top cover.

Thanks a bunch seahorse ... it kinda snuck up on me when it fell out ... didn't see it until I already had the solenoids out and it was on the ground so I guess it just slipped out of the lid then
