69 Starcraft offshore motor sizing

I have a 1969 Starcraft Runabout Offshore V18, or is it a Offshore Runabout?
It currantly has a 68 or 69 mercury 100hp inline 6 on it, I am thinking of upgrading the motor, what are the ratings for this boat, can I put a 150 on it?

Starcraft recommended a max HP of 125 for that year/model. 150 is a lot of motor on an 18' aluminum boat.

Thanks, I'll look in that direction, I had a 150 spotted, but don't want to over do it too much.

If the motor is good and probably about the same weight Should be ok. You do not have to run it at WOT but if you need the extra Hp you will have it. All my past in line 6's were i60 hp what do you hve that is only 100 HP currently?
