well guys I did! I was cruising along in my sailboat after nice sail after school with my motor to get back home, I then looked at the tell tale and what I sa was not good! steam!! bloody steam, this was 10 minutes after I fired it up! then I hurd this load PAM!!!! and the motor stoped! I quikly load at the motor. the plug wires are melted and almost every plastic part around the powerhead!

I believe the BOOM came from a piece of metal that shot of the powerhed becuase of preasure! it is round and looks like it could pop right on, the manual does not describe this? it is next to the fuel pump on the powerhead? how do I replace this?

Second! when I replace the rope starter, my manual only gives derections on the overhead rope starters not the side ones that wrap around a cylander and act like a electric starter with the gear popping up and all... my manula is for the 9-98 2-70 hp modles, by ENGINEr is not a sailmoter, but my friends sail ENGINE is also the same type of starter? can any one email me the directions and diagram for my starter BUCCANEERSAILOR@aol.com

and OH YEAH! I was ableto get home by using my brand new BRIGGS and STRATTON! that I was towing in a John boat behind my sailboat... :)
THANKS!

I ahve heard the best way to continue geeting usefull life out of engines like this is to reomeve the powerhead from the leg, remove carb, intake manifold, flywheel, and sylanderhead. Next, remove main bearings, rod caps, anc pastons, if they will not come outt due to bieng melted to the syalnder walls, thiy can be beat out wiff a sladge hammmer and a piace of stovewood. Next tye a rope throo one of the sylinder bore holes and it mkes a goood ankor
