Stored motor ran ok after replacing fuel line and cleaning carb. Ran ok...went and fished...on way back came out of the swamp, gunned it and motor coughed 3 times a died. Gas tank was new and gas was new with 50:1 oil mixture. Any ideas? I tried this forum the other day and can't find it now. Thanks.

The two basic issues to look at would be: 1. Is gas getting to the cylinders? (fuel pump problem?) 2. Do you get a spark at the spark plugs? -- ground the plugs first.

Thanks for answering me EGB. Wouldn't you know it. I got it home and the thing started right up in the barrel! I did notice that at times the motor would heitate when I put the cover back on. I wonder if it was starving for air. When I gunned it on the water I also wonder if the air requirment was too much for it (under the cover) and smothered it...??
