Not sure if the picture will help much, but does any have a guess on the year of this motor, idea on the weight, and what it would be worth in running shape? Thanks..

What model # is it? It's on the mount. It looks like mid to late 60's.

Go to this site and look up the photo:

old-omc.de

The value depends on the area. It'd be worth a few hundred in my area in good running condition.

late 60's early 70's. There should be a model number on the transom bracket. Post it and we'll tell you what you have.

Weighs about 60 lbs. Value is subjective. Assuming everything is in good working condition and its running its worth about $250-375 CDN where I live.

It is for sale about 100 miles from where I am, so I can not get the id number.. So $150-200 us would be good for it?

Probably. Depends on its overall condition and whether it runs or not.

Judging by the paint and decals it certainly looks like a 1971 model. Model 6R71. It weighs 51 lbs. by itself and would come with a separate 6 U.S. gallon tank by default (1/2 height tank could also have been ordered new).

That one you have in the picture looks pretty good cosmetically. They are great motors, just not too powerful.

Well my other motor is a 78 mercury gnat 4hp. I am hoping it has more umph than that one. It is going on a 12ft flat bottom.

I think that you are looking at a 1967 6HP Johnson "Slick 6".

If it is anything like my 1965 Johnson 6HP, you should find it very satisfactory.

The short model weighs 51 pounds.
