My combo seawater/fuel pump housing on my 1993 7.4 liter is leaking the gear lube out of the front seal by the v belt pulley. Is there a seal kit available for this or do I have to spend $500 for a whole new pump housing? If there is a kit/seal available how do I pull the pulley off the shaft so I can replace the seal?

most the parts are still avalible from mercruiser, or were 5 years ago.
dont see much old stuff here in the salt pond.
you can buy the pully remover/installer from most any auto parts store.typically its easier to replace the pump, dissasemble it per the service manual and inspect all housings and shaft seal surfaces before buying anything.

like rod bolt said.

this was kind of a stop gap deal when gm droped the fuel pump drive off the engine block. you might be better of to check into a electric fuel pump and standard sea pump.

the combo units like yours, seem to be high doller units.
i know this dosnt answer your question-- just an idea

Re: 7.4 liter Seawater / fuel pump rebuild

Thanks for the info and suggestions. I'm going to run out the rest of the season as is and pull the unit off after were done boating this fall. I'll inspect shaft and seals and then make a decision on which avenue to take. If the shaft is worn at the seal I'll probably go with separate seawater pump and electric fuel pump.

Thanks again
