I have a 1990 sea ray sundancer in which over the past 7-8 years I’ve completely rebuilt…new interior, new motor, bravo 3 drive…yesterday I finally got to splash her for the first time inn8 years or so. I put $80 in fresh gas in her, it was empty before, it started fine with 2 pumps of the throttle tgen fired right up. She idles good and then when you go to full throttle, it almost seems to be starving for fuel, at times it’s almost as though it’s slowing down tgen at times it pops…will only go to about 3400 rpm’s and go 26 mph. Any idea..

Need to figure out is it fuel, spark or motor.

Does the new motor have a flat tappet or roller cam?
If flat was cam broke in?

You sure the tank was completely empty as in bone dry?
Could dump contents of the filter into clear container to see if anything is there but clean gas

Check timing

1990 engine, so it is the Mark IV version .

I’d say a fuel issue, given the amount of time it’s been unused. Fresh gas is one thing, a gummed up carburator is another
