7.5 Evinrude

I was just given a vintage 7.5 hp evinrude outboard. I am trying to find out the year. I cannot find a model number on it but the serial number is 7524-05565. can anybody help with determining the year of this engine. the engine is in great physical condition but haven't tried to start it yet, any help would be greatly appreciated.

1958 is the year.

Great motors. 57 - 58 I think was the coolest year of the 7.5's.

7524 is the model #. 24:1 gas mixture. Read the top secret post at the top of the forum and it'll tell you what to do with getting it running. Good luck
