I recently bought a 14ft aluminum boat and it has the 7.5 gamefisher model # 217585830. There is a small pin hole on top of the carb that will leak gas out . Is this normal? And also does anyone know the gas ratio? Thank you

welcome IronCobra, usually thats a sign of the fuel pump bladder having failed.

Hey, Mr. C. - Can't a needle that won't seat do that, too?

well yes, but that should be weeded out early by closing the fuel shut off valve, I guess we should just declare a total rebuild when some complains of the atmospheric vent leaking fuel.

and the mix ratio is 50-1 on that model

Mr.Crabs, would it also have a name of duck bill pump element? Also, thank you for the response

It does look kind of like a duck bill, ? I suppose, I have never heard it called that but then I don't get out that much :)

The part is actually called a "fuel pump ELEMENT".This part can sometimes be found at a small engine (lawn mower)repair shop. The Tecumseh part number is 630953 and is around $7.It also has to be inserted into the carb at the correct angle with the slit // facing one o'clock to seven o'clock position to work correctly,or it will be damaged.
Here is a man on Ebay that carries it if you can't find it locally.Hope this helps.
