7.5 Gamefisher wont start

Hey all, My friend and I are tinkering around with his old outboard motor he got at a garage sale. We need to get a new red gas tank because there is white slug like looking things. I also asked my friend at school and he said that I need the primer bulb to start the engine. Is this true? Just need any help that I can get. Thanks so much in advance!

Yes you need the primer bulb to prime the system.I did start one without even with the tank above and a couple of squirts into the carb it took forever to get the system primed.
Why can't you clean out the tank.Just be very carefull of fumes etc. work outside.
If you give us the model number we can be more help.

Hey Stelespike. The model number of the gamefisher is 217-585750. I am currently in process of researching gas tanks because the tank had peices of unknown material which looked like slugs. Thanks.
