Hi, I have a Chrysler built 7.5 horse Seaking outboard. I bought a boat with this motor on it for $400 from a guy I worked with. I mostly wanted the boat for duck hunting. The motor ran when I got it, but not very well. It wouldn't idle and would die, the second you let off the throttle. I replaced the fuel line and tank and cleaned the carb. There is a little spring that goes on the float and I am not sure how it is suppose to go back on? I tried to figure it out the best that I could, but the motor floods so bad, that it barely runs at WOT. Is there a diagram that shows how the spring goes in? Is this the reason that the carb floods? When I first start the motor up, it idles perfectly and runs like a champ, but after a couple of minutes, it starts to bog down and smokes terribly. I can see gas running out the front of the carb. Any suggestions?
Thanks
