Carb was rebuild all seemed fine at first. There appears to be an over flow hole at the top of the carb just under the throttle. Gas is squirting out of this hole once I squeeze the primer ball. Is that because the needle is not seated tightly? Maybe there is some crap in there or is it something else? The motor does run but spitting gas all over the place.

I did replace the needle & seat but did not like how the seat went in, is there a trick to get it in and flat?

I had a pinhole in the brass float that caused that same problem...

I use a flat punch that I ground down using emory cloth and my drill until it just fit, then I coat the seat with light oil and making sure that groove in the seat is pointing down and install it....a sure way to tell in most cases if its right is that there will be no change in the float position after installation.

That's exactly what I did but I think the directions said to put the groove side on the top or in the hole first, will have to read again

grooved side down,

If thats what happened you might get lucky and be able to use compressed air to blow it back out...no way to pick it out and save it:(

Thats what I found - fuel in the float, did you buy new or fix yours (how to?). This makes sense as it ran fine at first then the problem got worse and worse till gas was squirting every where.

Re: 7.5 hp Gamefisher gas pouring out of carb

Well I thought it was all fixed but its the weirdest thing. No gas with flow thru the needle hole. I pull the float and hook up the hose gas comes out the needle hole. Once the needle seats flow stops (normal) and if needle falls no more gas will come out no mater even if I take the needle out and sqeeze the ball. Tested this by blowing by mouth same issue. So the problem lies in the little diaphragm which is new and installed per instructions. Once the flow stops I can blow with all my might and it will not let any more air thru again, I'm lost never seen this before.

I had spare float, but if you clean float and dry, maybe plumbers solder?
