7.5 HP Water pump issue

Recently got a 1969 Mercury 75 (7.5 HP) Thunderbolt ign. motor.

Have the engine submerged in water but all I'm getting out of the return "pee" hole is air. Where do I start???

check your impeller. Just had the same problem and my impeller was toast.
