7.5 late 70's mercury

My engine runs great at slow speed and up until about half throttle and it will not pick up any RPM above that. Anyone have this problem ? any idea's

might take a look at the carb high speed circuit may be clogged up the other thing you might try is take the cover off and push the throttle linkage full open and see what happens could be something in the linkage.

Thanks.. I'am going to try these things, I think it's a carb/fuel problem and I will check it out as soon as I get a chance.
