7.5 Mercury Spark Plugs

I am working on a 7.5 Merc Serial # 2635278 and I really can not figure out what the correct spark plugs are. The previous owner put Champion J8C in it. Any advice would be appreciated. I would like to run Champions if possible.

On MarineEngines.com the spark plug is listed as a NGK BUHW-2, which cross refernces to a Champion L78V. I have a Mercury 7.5 hp of similar vintage and I believe it has the Champion plugs, not sure if they are the ones that cross reference to the OEM, but perhaps I'll check.
