7.5 powerhead on 5.5 leg?

I have a '54 johnson 5.5 that needs a new powerhead, and I've also been looking for 7.5's. So, I think it would work, but need confirmation. Would a mid 50's evinrude fleetwin 7.5 powerhead work on this leg?

a 54 - 55 fleetwin powerhead will work. 56 and later will be slightly different.

And you'd have to use the 7.5 hood on the 7.5 powerhead as the cowlings are different...
