Re: 7.5 Seaking

NathanY,

I have a seaking 9.9 hp that I just bought and the numbers on it are:

ser# 48X 23589
model# vwb52299d

When I tried to locate the year model, I found it extreamly hard to do so. I did a search on this forum and determined that it was a 1984 model. The first two numbers in the serial # are reversed. They are chrysler motors, or at least mine is, and were sold by wards. There-fore most parts are still available through force dealers. I also understand that NAPA auto part stores carry parts for these motors as well. I'm still doing research on these motors and if I come up with any additional info I'll pass it along. :D

Hope it helps,
Trp251

Re: 7.5 Seaking

NathanY,

I found a person who has info and parts on the sea king motors, as-well-as omc, mercury, and others. They closed their dealership and are slowly selling off the stock. They also helped identify my year model. The e-mail address is :

linda@nu-z.net

I received permission from this person to list their e-mail address. They seem to be very nice people and were very helpful; you might give them a try on identifying your motor.

Hope it helps,
Trp251 :D
