I have recently acquired a 7.5 Ted Williams would like to know the year and a good place to buy parts as this motor has a very weak spark. Model # 217-5889-0
Serial # 3f-181379
Powerhead says Tecumseh should I just go to a lawn mower shop. Motor has brand new coil on it. Thanks,

Thank you down east for the info. I have tried sears but the parts they have are very few. Should I try the lawnmower repair shops for parts? Thanks

I'll look to see if I still have the parts list and manual for that motor. I used to have the 2-cyl. version. I'll post some info tomorrow if I can find it.

But to answer your other question, a small engine repair shop may very well be able to help you, especially since Down East has given you the year info for the Tecumseh. Wouldn't hurt to call your local ones.

That 7.5 Tecumseh engine was based on a Power Products chainsaw and racing kart engine. It was also used in Sears David Bradley chainsaws.

Check Sears or a chainsaw shop for chainsaw parts.

Good luck. :)
