Hi I just got this motor with a bot and have it hooked up and in water trying to see if it starts. But as with my luck it won't. from what I have seen gas is at least making it to the spark plugs and that spark plugs do spark. I follow the starting instructions and it won't do anything when I pull could it be the spark plug gap? and if so what is said gap?

On another note If anyone has a copy of the manual on the com or knows where I can find one online I'd be very grateful.

Any help is welcome! I don't feel like rowing next time XD

I would gap the plug at .030. Can you tell what color spark you are getting if it is weak I would look at things like the points, condenser, and coil. There is some talk on the forums about a CDI box also known as a capacitor discharge ignition. It sounds like those that are using them have a great spark nice and blue. Also try squirting grrdh fuel directly into the cylinder to see if it starts.

I picked up a 15hp gamefisher for $40 a month ago, got it home, no spark.
Everything I read said replace impossible to find ignition with CDI.
I did not do that, but instead took my ignition file, and cleaned the points.
Strong, bright blue spark on both cylinders now.

Do the easy stuff first. New plugs, check POINT GAP, and clean them, and take a look at the key in the flywheel. If its offset, like it came close to shearing, then your timing would be off.

Well your lucky you have a points model 15hp GF...those with the BIM coils models are out about $200USD and there is no jiffy fix for that...No points to clean :facepalm:

The easy stuff is the model lookup

well I have the spark plugs set right and they spark great but the motor is still not firing I even tried fresh fuel how do I know if the bim coils are bad? and what should the points be set at? I can't find a manual other then on parts direct and ya not gonna put out 40 bucks for it atm.
