This moter start 1st or 2nd pull everytime it has a crack in the cover and the neutral drive switch is broke (stays in drive) I can find the numbers on it
Now for the big question how much is this motor worth a guy told me $20 is IT (I laughed in his face) what would be a fair price other than what ever you can get for it I should tell you guys that smaller motors are near impossible to find in this area and we all know what new ones cost
I was thinking about $100 would be more than fair
Thanks

frroog
Ask me if I would pay $100?,I will laugh in your face! That said, there is a sucker born every minute. I only want something to take me out AND bring me back. Maybe boating in your area is ponds and that be just fine. That ain't much motor, never was when new. I'd trade it for a 30 pack and a bag of ice. Have a good weekend!
Backfire ;)

I agree with Backfire, but not quite as generous. I would pay $20 to haul the piece of crap away. Ted Williams was a great baseball player, but he ever took a ride in a boat powered by one of tthese engines, he would certainly take a baseball bat to it. Maybe that's how it got the crack. :p

The price is in the beholder, I'm not a big fan of that engine although I like small engines, I'll bet there is someone out there who would pay $100.00 , but a more reasonable price would be around 75.00 :)

Hey frroog, The way i always looked at it is, one mans junk is another mans gold. some one on this board might just need that for there collection,or now some one that does. And besides that pond jumping is fun,I love it. :D

MTH54-Pink at night sailors delight,Pink in the morning sailors take warning!

Re: 7.5HP Ted Williams rough price

I recently priced out a new 5 h.p.outboard and was so shocked I laughed myself out of the marine dealership! I spent $125.00 (Cdn) on a used 7.5 Ted Williams/Tecumseh unit which was running but has now quit. I'm looking for a coil and ignition unit to try as I have no spark. I have a line on a new coil but as yet, cannot find an ignition unit.

One man's junk may definitely be another's cash in the bank.

Regards,
Jeff

Not only is it a lousy engine, frooggy, it is broke!

If it were a Johnnyrude twin it would be worth a lot more than a hundred but it isn't. It was a poor engine when new and everything worked. Now it is an old, poor engine with a broke clutch and a broke bonnet.

Be happy with the $20.
