'70 55hp SeaKing... auto choke doesn't work

VWB27056a 55hp SeaKing automatic choke doesn't work, or is it automatic? In order to start, I have to take cover off of engine and hold the butterfly closed while someone else turns the ignition in order for it to start. Any information on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Try the Chrysler section, since yours is made by Chrysler. Someone there will be familiar with that 55hp.
