I am looking at a L/U for parts for my 71, 60hp, electric drive unit. This unit has two(2) fill- holes. What does this unit fit or has someone modified it with another fill-hole? The holes are about 1 1/2" apart.

Are the holes at the top or bottom ketron???? No OMC lower unit that I know of (key words "that I know of") have two fill holes except some Force/Chrysler lower units.

You sure this is an old OMC product? Maybe post a pic?

EDIT: You sure it's an electric shift unit?

Holes are at the top. It is an electric shift. The top of the L/U unit is just like my 71 unit. I'll go an remove the screws and look inside. I looked at the diagrams on ishopmarine.com on all 69-71 models; none showing two holes. Seems like someone has added the other hole. Thanks

Update: One screw goes to the solenoid housing cylinder and the other goes to the driveshaft housing cylinder.

the bottom one is to drain and refill the top is to see how much you are adding(lower unit oil) like an over flow.I have the same motor.

Sibling...to insure we are on the same page: I have a total of three (3) holes. Two at the top and one at the bottom. If this is what you have..what year/model is it for? Thanks
