I've searched previous posts but not quite found an answer. I have a '77 70 hp 3-cyl. that runs fine on muffs but stalls if I try to get it over 1800 rpm on the water. I've gone through the fuel system from tank to carbs - no change. It's as if I'm running on one cylinder.
I've got a Seloc manual and performed the resistance tests on switchbox, trigger and stator. The stator seemed a bit "iffy," especially if I wiggle the harness. I keep seeing figures for doing a voltage test on the stator, but no one ever says how this test is done. Which wires do I connect to? Must the engine be running? Can anyone explain?
And while I'm at it, what is this "DVA" that people keep referring to?
