I recently acquired a boat with a dying trim motor (horrible noises, almost dead) and a leaking center trim piston. I was going to manually trim it up until I have time to address these issues.
Problem: I can't lift the motor!
Did lots of searches here and tried the following:
I opened the relief screw on the left side; opened what I think is another relief screw on the bottom of the electric motor (fluid leaks out) - and I still can't raise it more than a few inches! In fact opening the big plastic relief screw on the left side actually narrowed my range of motion!
Steering seems to work fine and is lubed - I have tried raising it in both N and F.
What the HECK am I missing?
