70 hp force cut out

my engine just stalled when i was going at a high speed and it just started with no problem right after, could it be that i need a thermostat, maybe it was a over heating warning? it happend twice. pls help me out,thx

Not likely.
If it overheated enough to kill the engine, it would have taken quite some time to cool down before it could re-start.

Mine has done it, when there was a bunch of water in the fuel.

Could also be electrical short somewhere, but hard to say.
