1975 70 hp 3 cylinder Johnson. I have had this motor for about 15 years and mounted on three different boats. Little 70 Jonnie has always ran like a charm. Always done own maintenance. One problem that I can't seem to figure out is that after letting the motor sit for about fifteen minutes I have to choke it to get it to start. It has always had this problem. After it starts it will start first time and run great at idle and wot. I have recently cleaned and rebuilt carbs, checked linkage and timing. Has good spark. Has been a nuisance more than anything else. Were these motors just cold natured or something that I can't figure out?
