silver,

It may. You'll have to experiment.

Whatever you decide to do, watch your cooling very closely. Pontoons tend to cavitate and create air pockets around the water intakes.

A water pressure guage would be a must, in my book.

As you are probably allready aware it takes a lot of power to produce any speed out of a pontoon.
So your motor fiddling may help but will be hardly noticed unless your motor is grossly over submerged.
Maybe try a gps and check your speed, properly trimmed my guess would be about 26-28 mph. That
may be a little optimistic but it will give you a ball park figure.

I have a 22' with 70 and under perfect conditions top out at 23mph gps. If you have 23" tubes this is proabably the best you can expect, this is what the referance sheets spec. I dont know where they got the spec sheets but it was a breakdown by length tube size and motor size and was told it was quite accurate and proved so to me. under typical conditions I usualy get closer to 21.5 mph on the gps. As for your original question sorry I cant help you but if you try it give us an update on how it workes out would be curious to hear the result.
