We usually hook up a hose and test run the engine before we take them to the lake. However, by the time we get there, it's flooded. We lower the engine and wait a few minutes, and it will start up, most of the time. Sometime we have to pull the plugs and crank it over to get rid of the excess gas. Once it starts, it will start right up all day long.
Is there a recommended way to have the engine tilted\turned when transporting the boat? We lift it up, and lock it in place with a home made steel bracket as it we can't tilt it far enough to use the factory bracket because of the rear bench. Then just leave it in the center steering position.
Thanks
