70 wont start

:facepalm:hello help needed i have a 70 evinrude 1980 model,i started it up at home i usally use the fast idle to get it going and worked as usual ,the motor went for a bit then stopped
and now wont fire at all just keeps on winding with no hint of firing into action.checked plugs, fuel lines ant ideas please.

Likely no fuel at the carbs. Check your supply line at a carb to confirm my suspect and my guess it is a tank supply line or fuel pump/filter issue. Spark probably wouldn't fail in the way that you described and all the carbs would never act up together.

i had the same problem with my 1985 70hp evinrude you know you never take the key out the one time i did i didnt get that little clip that your suppost to clip to your hip all the way in and it fell out. that sucked spent 2and1/2 hours trying to figure that out for it just to be that like clip

Do you have spark? Have you tested for it?.......and yes spark can fail at any time with varying symptoms.

Is your control box equipped with a safety kill switch?

Is the fuel bulb firm, if you are suspect of a fuel delivery problem you can try putting pre mixed fuel in a spray bottle and spraying into the carbs while turning over the motor, do NOT use straight gas or starting fluid.
