Can a 703 be changed from push for thortle to pull?

The screws that hold the case together are siezed and I want to make sure this will work before I crack it open.

I am trying to rig a C55 hp up.

Re: 703 control box Pushes I need pull

Thanks for the offer, I have page 4-16 of the outboard rigging guide that the dealer here copied for me.

The funny thing is that the parts counter guys say that I don't need to buy any additional parts to change this from push to pull. I even asked them if they might be thinking of a 704 and they said that they had called Yamaha and were told it could be done without any new parts.????? Can I break down the part and put it back together backwards to make it work? Does a new 703 come with both the push and pull throttle arm or these guys just flat out wrong?

the picture looks like you could just reverse it but they don't specify that you can...you would think they would tell you that if it were true...I'd go with the book or post a question to Rodbolt on this forum-he'd know ! 8)

I don't think the old one can come apart, but the new one is the same parts in a diffrent setup.

New part number to superseed the old one is
Yamaha part number = 703-48261-11-00
I just picked one up $68.00 + Tax
