70Hp Evinrude model and year

I recently purchased a used 1991 Tracker Nitro with a 70HP Evinrude. I was told that the motor was a 1991 but looking at the model# (J70ELCRD). I feel it may be a 1984 model. Can anyone confirm? Just need to be sure so I can reference the right manual for this motor.<br /><br />Thanks.

Rex.... That engine is indeed a 1984 70hp Evinrude.

Thanks Joe, I thought so. Engine runs good and has 148 to 150 PSI compression. I bought a 1991 manual and it seemed somewhat different than what I actually had.
