I have a 1973 or 74 70 HP evinrude and it use to crank up fine choking it but now i cant get it to crank on its own. I can spray starter fluid in 1 cyclinder and it will fire right up. after its running it will idle fine. in operation it runs fine untill full throttle and it misses at full throttle. Could it be the fuel pump bad? any suggestions would be great.

How long has it sat?
Could be the carbs are plugged and need a good going thru.
Got fresh gas?
Fuel pump is a possibility.

FYI. Starting fluid is not good for 2 cycle motors, even for a few seconds.

i didnt winterize it or anything but it ran good first couple times on the lake this year then got to where wouldnt crank. i changed plugs didnt help checked to see if all cyclinders was firing and they was. if it was the fuel pump wouldnt it miss or something while running? after its crunk it runs fine. im taking off all carbs tomorrow and cleaning them out. if that doesnt help ill go from there.
