70hp force surges then dies over 3500rpm

hi hope someone can help just replaced plugs, all fuel lines on this thing now it starts up perfect runs good uder3000 rpms but over 3500 rpm it surges and then dies. but it starts right up with no problem just touch the key and its running cant fig out what else to try

fuel tank vent open?<br /><br />I would replace the fuel pump diaphram.<br /><br />If that doesn't do it, I'd rebuild the carb.

its vented through the fuel cap on the tank a flip top with a lock that you push in to open and screen on the cap is clean and tried it with cap lifted up and did same thing

is your carb setting too lean?

took fuelpump apart and was all roted out inside have to get a rebuild kit for it and hope this fixes it

Well took boat out and is running good now! will post again went it gives me trouble again. thanks found lots of help just looing at different posts by doing a search on here
